Childhood memories (poem)

Childhood memories

In youthful days of yore, when innocence did gleam,

When life was but a tapestry, a woven childhood dream,

I muse upon those precious moments, like treasures held so dear,

Where memories of my youth unfold, so vivid and so clear.

Oh, childhood's realm, a sanctuary sweet,

Where laughter danced upon the air, in patterns light and fleet,

With skipping steps and rosy cheeks, we'd frolic in the sun,

Embracing life's enchantments, each day a journey begins.

In meadows green, we'd chase the butterflies on wings,

With boundless joy, like birds in flight, we'd dream of wondrous things,

Imagination, our faithful guide, would weave its golden thread,

Transforming ordinary days to magic, as we tread.

Through secret woods, a hidden world, we'd wander hand in hand,

Discovering hidden nooks and crannies, in a far-off wonderland,

Oh, how the trees would whisper tales, their branches reaching high,

As if to touch the heavens, where dreams would touch the sky.

Beneath the moon's benevolent gaze, we'd dance in twilight's grace,

Embracing moonbeams' gentle touch, their radiance on our faces,

And as the stars ignited, like jewels in the velvet night,

We'd make our wishes, one by one, to fill our hearts with light.

Simple pleasures filled our days, like stories yet untold,

Savoring the taste of summer, in each grain of sand and gold,

With kites that soared, like hopes on high, we'd chase them to the breeze,

As innocence imbued our souls, a tapestry of ease.

Oh, childhood memories, like whispers in the wind,

Their tender touch, a gentle balm, to heal the wounds within,

Though time may pass and years may fade, their essence still remains,

The echoes of a cherished past, where innocence sustains.

So let us not forget, dear friends, the child within our core,

For in those tender memories, lies wisdom to explore,

Embrace the spirit of your youth, with eyes that still can see,

The magic woven in the tapestry of sweet, sweet memory.
